2022 Highlights
This year (actually the last 18 months) has seen massive changes here at McColl's Brewery, don't worry I won't bore you with all the details, but below is a little 2022 insider review, a look at what makes us tick and what we have planned for 2023.

Easy drinking beer
We don't want anyone to be excluded from enjoying our beers - this comes from a long standing belief from all of us at McColl's Brewery that hospitality, whether at home or in the best pub in the world, includes everyone, it's an open door, not a bubble or a niche club but something we can all enjoy.
This is only possible with total commitment to producing top quality beers, leaving nowhere to hide, reflecting this in our branding and then embracing it when we deal with every single person who'll listen to us.
2022 Highlights
From mid 2021 onwards we have seen vast improvements in the quality of beer we are producing after investing massively in quality assurance and consistency within the brewery. We still have a lot of work to do but you can read what and why we went back to basics here.
We hope you have seen these improvements in the cans we now produce, over the bar at the taproom or at your favourite bar, we won't be slowing down in 2023 with more improvements planned.
With all the above in mind, we thought we needed to really reflect this in our brand and our messaging a lot more, with a more coherent and easy going identity that celebrates where we are from and the styles of beer we produce. You can read all about it here
Our quickest selling beer ever!
Hot on the heels of the rebrand we released Coast, an Extra Pale Ale jam packed with the freshest Nelson Sauvin hops we could get hold of. It's fair to say it went down well selling out completely in 4 weeks.
You'll be pleased to hear it's back on the brew schedule as a permanent seasonal beer, so keep your eyes peeled in May.
Oktoberfest !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was a massive highlight of our year, the beer (Fest - Lager) went down a storm, but the Oktoberfest we held at the brewery 100% reinforced why we do all of this. On a cold weekend, in an industrial estate in Evenwood we had the part of all parties.
For 2023 we plan to go bigger and better. See you then.
Collabageddon
Wow, what an honour to be invited to brew for this years national Collabageddon, which seen us team up with Amity Brew Co. and Lakes Brew Co. What a great end to 2023 it was, and serves as a great building block for 2023. With some amazing collabs already booked in.
