Head Brewer

Salary:

£9.00/hr - £18,720

McColl’s Brewery

We are a young, small and developing brewery brewing innovative beers alongside traditional British beers. We have a 32 hL brewhouse and 76 hL fermentation capacity producing cask, keg, can and bottled beer. Based in rural Teesdale we sell direct across the North East and Nationwide via wholesale and distribution. The right person will help the brewery improve and grow, and as we develop we will always offer an increase in rate of pay and opportunities for professional development to reflect the role.

Key Duties and Skills

- Work independently in all areas of the brewery – weighing in, mashing, boiling, transferring, yeast pitching, fermentation management, dry hopping and additions, packaging, CIP inc cask washing, QA & QC

- Creative input in recipe development and improving brewery performance

- Stock control, brew scheduling and production planning

- Represent McColl’s Brewery on site and in public

- Champion McColl’s Brewery beers, ethos and passion for beer

 

- Able to demonstrate knowledge & enthusiasm for the beer industry

- Self-motivated, capable of working on own initiative

- Methodical, critical, positive, creative and forward thinking

- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
